First sighted May 2015 in Saint Guenole Brittany by Pascal Bounie in an oiled state with a leg injury, it evaded capture at that time. Any injured animal or bird is very hard to catch, due to heightened survival instincts.

Alan Payne has had another sighting of GBBGull P:46A on the 27th May near to Looe Cornwall at Downderry still in the same area as the day before.
Herring Gull 635 ringed June 2016 on the Break Water previously seen on the Axe Estuary Devon by Ian McLean was sighted at Lodmoor RSPB Reserve Weymouth 22nd May in the Gull roost not far from its fledging site.
Ian McLean sent in his weekly list of our Gulls from the Axe Estuary GBBGull P:64B seen 27th May a regular on the Axe and a GBBG ringed by us last June but has a Herring Gull Darvic B/W 626 seen also on the 27th May.
Even with the best efforts with these large Gulls, errors do occur but they are extremely rare. There is a 0.5mm difference in the inner diameter of the rings.

Two GBBGull's sat on roof in Seaton Cornwall may not seem very exciting, but to our fledgling Gull project ( now in its 7th year with Herring Gull's and 6th year with GBBGull's ) it possibly is.
Why possibly?
It is the first sighting we have received to date seen on 26th May 2017, of two Gull's giving the observer Alan Payne the impression they are a pair.
Our Gull P:46A ringed June 2012, so now an adult appeared smaller than the accompanying Gull, hopefully a Male.
P:46A has been sighted in this area of Cornwall along with one sighting in Guernsey, several times since fledging.

As has been mentioned previously this site is under
development, being a blog for sightings we are reliant on Birders sending in their
sightings for which we are very grateful of the time they put in.
We are always looking for ways to make it more interesting. As with all colour ring sightings and ringing
more questions are generated than answered, for instance the following three
Gulls.
P:08A Ringed as a Pulli June 2012, then no information until
October 2014 with the first of 64 sightings to date. Impressive, yes but except
for one sighting at Dawlish Warren Devon, the other 63 sightings have been on
the Axe Estuary…..!!!!!
P:99A ringed as a Pulli June 2014, first sighting March 2015

Estuary.
Herring Gull 473 ringed in Seaton Devon next to the Axe Estuary,
