 A sighting from November 2023 has come to us, GBBGull P:70F was ringed in June 2023 on the Break Watrers.

It was sighted in Port Joinville, Ile de Yeu, Vendee France seen there on the 1st November 2023 by Marie-Paul & Xavier Hindermeyer.

 Great Black Backed Gull P:83D was originally ringed as a Pulli in June 2021

Sighted on its first visit to Guernsey and Perelle Beach on the 26th January 2024. 
This was also the first sighting since being ringed as a Pulli.

 Sightings from both sides of the Channel on the 20th January.

GBBGull P:43A regular visitor to Perelle Beach Guernsey she was back there on the 20th January seen by Wayne Turner.

Originally ringed in June 2012 the Darvic is showing some wear with part of the top layer worn away.

We receive very few Herring Gull sightings so it is always very welcome when one comes iin, and on the same day as the GBBG above.

Herring Gull 694 was seen on Westham Bridge in Weymouth also on the 20th January by Amy Ellis.

Ringed in July 2018 after rehab due to falling of a roof before fledging, subsequently released when ready to fledge.

 GBBGull P:63D has made its first visit of the year to Perelle Beach Guernsey, one of the regular visitors to that Beach which is very popular with Gulls of all types.

Seen at Perelle 18th January 2024. Fledged in June 2019 then no sightings until March 2021 at Perelle and a total of 20 sightings since all at Perelle Beach Guernsey.


Wednesday 10 January 2024

 The first sightings of our ringed Adult GBBGull's in this New Year both from Wayne Turner and seen at Perelle Beach Guernsey.

To date all sightings of this Gull have been at Perelle Beach.

P:43A is fast becoming the Grand Old Lady of our project all sightings have been from Guernsey some 145 so far the latest being on the 8th January also at Perelle Beach from Wayne.

Originally ringed in June 2012 which in May this year this may she will be 12 years old.

 GbbGull P:23D was ringed in June 2021, subsequently sighted post fledging in Weymouth Harbour Dorset in December 2021.

Then no sightings until Sue Court sighted it back In Weymouth Harbour on the 6th January 2024.

 Another of our fledgelings from June 2023 has been sighted GBBGull P:16H, seen at Newlyn in Cornwall on the 4th January.

Wednesday 3 January 2024

 We have received our first sighting of the Year 2024 fron Sven Normant of GBBGull P:04H.

Seen in Guisseny Brittany to the West of Roscoff on the 2nd January 2024.

This is the first sighting of this Gull since it fledged in June 2023
