Great Black Back Gull P:44A has visited quite a few places since being ringed as a Pulli in June 2012.

First sighting was on the Axe Estuary Devon and then Dawlish Warren also in Devon before moving on to the Camel Estuary in North Cornwall, it has visited Dungeness in Kent, Radipole lake in Weymouth Dorset and three sightings this year from Herriots Bridge Chew Valley Lake near Bristol.

This is our second Great Black Back Gull movement away from the South Coast. In this instance to London and then back to the South Coast once more.

Great Black Back Gull P:79A was back on the Axe Estuary Devon on the 4th September, sighting sent in By Ian McLean one of our regular contributors.

The sightings from this particular Gull for us are setting sighting records.

Since then Ian has sent in 57 sightings of this Gull commencing for Ian in August 2015, there have been an  additional 9 other sightings from other observers.

Herring Gull 420 ringed at Radipole Lake Weymouth December 2011, was back on the Hayle Estuary 2nd September.

420 has been known to frequent the Pasty shop on Hayle Quay.
Obviously a Gull of good taste, you can't beat a real Cornish pasty!!!!
The last two weeks of August gave us an increase in sightings of our Gulls.

Ian McLean sent in 31 Great Black Gull sightings including P:27A making its first recorded visit to the Axe Estuary this year. Also Herring Gull 476 (ringed in Seaton Devon) seen on two occasions.

Dave Dawe also sent in four Great Black Back Gull sightings from the Axe Estuary.

We are happy to receive multiple sightings from the same day and the same site, nothing is refused all is welcome.

Steve came across a dead Herring Gull at Ferry Bridge Weymouth / Portland ringed on Skokholm July 2009 found May 2017. Not a rare movement from Skokholm but not a common one.

Herring Gull 453 ringed in Weymouth was back at Lower Compton landfill near to Bristol on the 16th & 23rd August sighting sent in by Nick Adams. Nick is a regular sight at Lower Compton checking the Gulls for colour rings.
