For our project sightings of Herring Gulls are equally important to us, unforetunately they don't come in as often.

Happily this week one has arrived thanks to Karen Delahay who sighted HG 559 in the Harbour at Swanage in Dorset on the 15th June.

This Gull has given sightings since it was ringed as a Pulliin Portland Harbour, all from Swanage ust be feeding in that area.

Thanks to Nick Ford and his Fishing Boat we have received our first sighting of GBBGull P:46D since it was ringed in June 2019.

Dinner is just below in a box maybe !!!

This GBBGull is not the first to visit Nick while he was fishing. Nick has sent in sightings of our Gulls before.

Two of last years 2023 Fledglings are back at Newltn in Cornwall sighted by Tony Mills.

Both seen on the 11th June by Tony, Cornwall is very popular with the Gulls.

News from Guernsey of definite proof of breeding by one of our GBBGull's P:43A, from Wayne Turner. In 2022 Wayne saw this GBBG with a Pulli close by but not 100% sure of a relationship.

Now on the 10th June Wayne had proof as it was with its mate and a newly hatched chick.

Wayne and from his observations passed to us we have assumed P:43A to be female based on being the smaller Bird. This year both adults incubated the egg or possiblly eggs, but now there is a chick it is the larger Gull that is more involved with the chick as in the photo.
