Thanks to Stan Christophers we have our first sighting of Herring gull 611, seen at Penteween Cornwall on the 30th January 2018.

First sighting since ringing in June 2016 on the Portland Break Waters.

Tuesday, 30 January 2018

We go out every June to the Portland Break Waters to ring the Gull Pulli then wait hopefully for sightings to come in. Some times they arrive within days of the Birds fledging or at other times we have to wait for information, a wait of a year or more in some cases.

As with Herring Gull 529 ringed June 2014, which thanks to Joe Stockwell sighting it on the 29th January at Radipole Lake in Weymouth, we now have the first sighting of this Herring Gull since fledging.

Monday, 29 January 2018
